Rest

I was spoiled today.

This morning Dan willingly watched the girls so I could get a massage from the lovely Lindsey Lovsey (highly recommend her!). It was just what I needed this week.

This afternoon my sister played with my girls so I could run errands/get some much needed household items. It was fun to peruse the stores a little slower than I normally do.

To top it all off, Dan helped cook dinner and did dishes. He is wonderful.

In this season of life, days like these really rejuvenate me. I am an introvert so alone time refreshes my spirit.

Rest brings me joy. And reminds me that Jesus gives me rest, too. Rest in a deeper, even more needed way. The kind of rest that brings stillness to my soul.

“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.”
Matthew 11:28-30

Joy comes from this reminder. Tomorrow, my body will be tired again. But, I have rest that lasts.
